Improving usability and UX/UI consistency of the ultimate all-in-one business management platform

InSeed is an Italian start-up with a great idea: centralising the business management of companies and freelancers.
InOne is the ultimate all-in-one business management platform. It takes the hassle out of project management, tackling everything from assignments to invoicing with ease.
When the team approached me, the platform was already pretty mature. The main focus wasn't on adding new functionalities, but on making the design more intuitive and coherent.
Goals
Improve information and UI hierarchy, for which I conducted a UX audit
Simplify displayed data by prioritising critical and frequently edited data
Rationalise and standardise UI components to ensure consistency
Results
I conducted a comprehensive usability audit to identify issues and UI inconsistencies, followed by benchmarking against successful designs from other companies.
Based on these insights, I created preliminary redesigns to enhance the information architecture, display of information, and UI elements.
I simplified the interface by hiding seldom-used functionalities, such as infrequently updated details, to enhance clarity and streamline the user experience.
I improved the hierarchy and consistency of UI elements, ensuring that similar components had a uniform appearance and behavior.
These changes resulted in a cleaner, more user-friendly interface with a logical organisation of information and consistent UI elements.
